Camon 30 5G Design, Body and Display

Tecno took time to design an authentic flagship smartphone with great aesthetics. Tecno Camon 30 5G has a sleek and elegant design and solid build quality. The phone’s body has a plastic frame that gives it a lightweight feel. It measures 165.4 x 75.9 x 7.8 mm or 8.0 mm and weighs around 200 grams. The phone has a glass front and a glass back or a silicone polymer back (eco-leather), depending on the color variant (black, blue, and green colorways).

It comes installed with a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2436 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The display also supports DCI-P3 color gamut and Always-on display.  These features collectively provide a unique viewing experience, cinematic viewing even when watching content for a long time.  Embedded under the display is a fingerprint scanner embedded in the display, which provides convenient and secure unlocking of the phone.

Other notable features of the Camon 30 5G are:

• a USB Type-C 2.0 port on the bottom, which supports charging, data transfer, and OTG. The phone also has a speaker grille and a microphone on the bottom;
• an infrared port on the top, which allows you to use the phone as a remote control for other infrared-enabled devices.
• a hybrid SIM slot on the left side, which can accommodate two Nano-SIM cards or one Nano-SIM card and one microSD card. The phone supports 5G networks, but the availability and compatibility may vary depending on the region and carrier.
• The phone has a volume rocker and a power button on the right side, which are easy to reach and press.

Camera set up

The phone has a dual camera setup on the back, consisting of a 50 MP main camera with optical stabilization and phase autofocus, and a 2 MP depth sensor. The camera module also has a dual-LED flash.

It features a single selfie camera on the front, which is a 50 MP sensor with autofocus and a dual-LED dual-tone flash. The selfie camera is placed in a hole punch cutout on the top left corner of the display. Overall, both sets of cameras record quality pictures and videos. Regrettably, no 4k Video recording capabilities.

The camera app has various modes and features, such as bokeh mode, pro mode, HDR, and panorama. Moreover, the camera sets can also record videos in different resolutions and frame rates.

Although decent, the quality of pictures and videos recorded by the camera sets is not exceptional. The main camera can capture detailed photos and videos in good lighting conditions, but it may struggle in low-light or dynamic scenes. Notably, the selfie camera can take stunning selfies with AI beautification, but it may overexpose the background or smoothen the skin too much.

Performance

Camon 5G runs on Android 14 with HIOS 14 skin on top. The phone is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7020 chipset, which has an octa-core CPU (2×2.2 GHz Cortex-A78 and 6×2.0 GHz Cortex-A55) and an IMG BXM-8-256 GPU. For a mid-range 5 G-enabled smartphone, the Camon is well equipped for modest performance as far as multi-tasking, gaming, and internet browsing are concerned. However, based on benchmark scores, it may not be able to compete with the flagship devices in terms of performance. The phone has256GB 8GB, 512GB 8GB, 512GB 12GB, which can be expanded with a microSD card (to be comfirmed). You need not worry about processing speed, or available space to store your content and files with such memory specifications.

Like the other Tecno Camo models such as the Tecno Camon 20 Pro 5G, Camon 20 5G, Camon 30 5G supports 5G networks, which provides faster and more reliable data transmission. The 5G bands and speeds may vary depending on the region and carrier.

It runs on the latest version of WLAN, USB Type-C 2.0, and OTG which is a fast, safe, amenable, and optimized web browsing experience.

Bluetooth
